As a doctor, Public Health specialist and Professor of Biostatistics, my research in Geo-epidemiology focuses on the analysis of the spatio-temporal dynamics of epidemics, in particular malaria and cholera. As a university researcher, I have developed biostatistical methods for the analysis of spatio-temporal clusters, and for the evaluation of epidemic dynamics. I have also developed mathematical models to assess the relationships between transmission, particularly of malaria, and different factors such as the environment, economic behavior and mobility. Aware of the importance of a strong and continuous international partnership, I have worked closely (for around 16 years) with the Malaria Research and Training Center (MRTC) in Bamako, Mali (Pr. Ogobara Doumbo). We have notably developed the data management and biostatistics unit of this center. I currently lead the Epidemic Dynamics and Territory research axis, within UMR912. Keenly aware of the importance of capacity building, I am responsible for a specialty of the Master in Public Health, Societies, Developments (Aix Marseille University, distance learning), with nearly 60 students per year, and I am thesis director for doctoral students from many countries (Mali, Burkina Faso, Senegal, Togo), in collaboration with local partner researchers.
